I write not a new command,
Rather of an old demand;
That you have had from the start,
And engraved into your heart.

The old command you have heard,
And is written in the Word;
The new command which is true,
If you let Him bide in you.

For darkness passes away,
No longer to be its prey;
Since true light already shines,
As you spread your fruitful vines.

You say you are in the light,
Love the Lord all of your might;
Except you hate your brother,
Darkness shrouds on your mother.

Someone who loves His brother,
Shines brightly on each other;
Light so you do not stumble,
Attitude will not grumble.

To hate you are in the dark,
No matter where you embark;
No insight to make you wise,
Darkness has blinded your eyes.

Your sin has been forgiven,
By the Lord up in Heaven;
Your confession did proclaim,
Professing in Jesus name.

You have come to know the One,
The Father had sent His Son;
To triumph over evil,
Winning over the devil.

You came to know the Father,
Building your faith much further;
Building your strength to be strong,
Child of God you belong.

Do not show love for this place,
Man has made it a disgrace;
Anyone who loves these things,
Cannot love what Heaven brings.

Lust of the flesh and the eyes,
Brings a pride as a disguise;
Love from God will not sever,
For His will stays forever.
