Divine power gave us all,
Everything needed for life;
But for man after the fall,
We have had to cope with strife.

Godliness through His knowledge,
Called for His glory and goodness;
The Lord does acknowledge,
For a relative closeness.

By these things He has given,
Great and precious assurance;
Through love flowing from Heaven,
For coping through endurance.

So, through God that you may share,
Sharing in a divine nature;
Knowing that the Lord does care,
Making us a new creature.

Escape from the corruption,
Caused by evil desires;
Makes a divine disruption,
For lighting sinful fires.

So, make every effort,
Supplement goodness and grace;
For having peace and comfort,
By feeling of His embrace.

Have knowledge through self-control,
Self-control with endurance;
For godliness for your soul,
His love to build confidence.

Brotherly fondness gives love,
As agape piety;
For the qualities thereof,
Reducing anxiety.

Qualities are increasing,
For keeping you as fruitful;
Through our Lord unceasing,
Since His love is bountiful.

Those who lack these things are blind,
Shortsighted from the past sin;
Having a peanut sized mind,
Because of tainting within.

I endeavor that I may,
And enabled to think back;
When expiring that day,
A bequest that I lack.
