Hopeful Laments

Tears flow from my eyes,
There will be no break;
No stop my demise,
All that is at stake.
Till the Lord looks down,
From Heaven and sees;
My face with a frown,
And hearing my pleas.
What my eyes see grieves,
All the suffering;
As my faith believes,
I need buffering.
All the enduring,
By all my daughters;
I need procuring,
Of sacred waters.
For no good reason,
My foes hunted me;
Committing treason,
Not let me go free.
They threw stones at me,
Thrown me in a pit;
Darkness hard to see,
Wanting to forfeit.
Water over head,
Thought that I would die;
But I plead instead,
Asking the Lord why.
I called put His name,
From depths of the well;
While I proclaim,
Not to drown in hell.
But He heard my plea,
Crying for relief;
Enabled to see,
Knowing my belief.
He said not to fear,
And redeemed my life;
I could feel Him near,
Saving me from strife.
