I lift up my eyes to the hills,
Of the place where my help comes from;
The place where joy in my heart fills,
Knowing that my Savior will come.

My help is coming from the Lord,
The One who made Heaven and earth;
God who is worshipped and adored,
For He gave me life through my birth.

He will not let your foot be moved,
He who keeps you will not slumber;
Reflecting on it that behooved,
Every right to encumber.

For He will not slumber nor sleep,
Just like the watchman on the wall;
As the shepherd watching the sheep,
Listening to hear our call.

Because the Lord is your keeper,
He is the shade on your right hand;
And will never be a sleeper,
His willingness is His command.

The sun shall not strike you by day;
Nor will the moon strike you by night;
As long as you trust and obey,
He will protect you with His might.

The Lord will keep you from evil,
As He is protecting your life;
While avoiding the devil,
Who enjoys filling you with strife.

If you allow Him to control,
The Lord will be your helpful guide;
While He shall preserve your soul,
If in Him that you will abide.

In going out and coming in,
He keeps you from this time forward;
Guiding you for avoiding sin,
Rest assured coming from the Lord.
