This is what I proclaim,
What was from the beginning;
What we have heard to acclaim,
The need of disciplining.

What we have seen with the eyes,
What we have touched with the hand;
The insight that made us wise,
Of what His Word does demand.

Because the life was revealed,
We have seen to testify;
Eternal life has unsealed,
What we never can deny.

What we have seen and heard,
That we have announced to you;
The Father gave us His Word,
Through His Son known to be true.

For we are writing these things,
That our joy is complete;
With the happiness it brings,
So, a sin does not repeat.

This Gospel message we heard,
God is light darkness is gone;
Because of faith in the Word,
We started with a new dawn.

If you have the fellowship,
Yet keep walking in the dark;
The you are about to trip,
Being blind where you embark.

You lied not walking in truth,
Fellowship with another;
In being rude and uncouth,
While hating your brother.

But if walking in the light,
You have fellowship with Christ;
Able to do what is right,
No longer getting enticed.

If you say you bear no guilt,
Only yourself you deceive;
Sin continually built,
For no one else will believe.

If we confess God forgives,
Cleanses from unrighteousness;
To sin no longer captives,
You will have His blessedness.
