Between the sweep of the two great rivers
That the skies cup down to meet,
Is this land where soil and climate
Form a complete unity.
Where the fields are lush and fruitful,
Where the cardinals with rapture sing,
For here is peace and plenty
Where everything grows.
To my heart this land is calling
And it cannot be denied,
I must hasten to this homeland
For I will be appeased.
I must roam this unsown rich land
Where the wild berries waft,
In this land of good-as-any
Where everything grows.
