I have already obtained,
But far from being perfect;
The Word already explained,
That it will not contradict.

So, I will go and press on,
Since Christ has made me His own;
Getting up at early dawn,
Doing what He will condone.

I conceive not what I do,
But forget what lies behind;
Straining forward to construe,
The future what I will find.

So, I press on toward the goal,
Of the upward call of God;
For Jesus Christ of my soul,
Knowing that He is no fraud.

Let someone who is mature,
If they might think otherwise;
That God will reveal the cure,
For seeing through the disguise.

Allow us to hold the truth,
To all of which we attain;
And stop being so uncouth,
From the evil to refrain.

Join in imitating Christ,
Keep your eyes on those who walk;
Void them from getting enticed,
Convincing them as you talk.

For I have often told you,
Even telling you in tears;
The cross of Christ has value,
Through the blood and sweat and fears.

Whose end will be destruction,
Their god is in their stomach;
Causing them an abduction,
Kindling chaotic havoc.

They have glory in their shame,
Minds are set on earthly things;
The deception they proclaim,
About the pleasure it brings.

A vile man can transform,
Through power of the Savior;
For a calm after the storm,
As Jesus shines His favor.
