I beseech you, be as I am,
I also became as You are;
You did me no wrong as a lamb,
In Heaven like a shining star.

You know through the infirmity,
Of the flesh I preached the Gospel;
You have cured my iniquity,
Making me as Your disciple.

My temptation which was in me,
You did not scorn nor did despise;
The light I was able to see,
Because You opened up my eyes.

You received me like an angel,
What became of Your blessedness;
And I remain humbly cordial,
Merciful and warmheartedness.

You would have gouged out Your eyes,
And would have given them to me;
Your brain in making me more wise,
That I would be able to see.

For I am not You enemy,
Since I am telling You the truth;
In one accord with harmony,
No longer would I be uncouth.
