You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your Word;
Causing me to be more fervent,
When Your commandments have been heard.

Teach me knowledge of good judgment,
I believe in Your commandments;
Always fair and just to compliment,
Having heavenly enchantments.

I was afflicted, went astray,
Uncertain how to keep Your Word;
I need Your help for to obey,
Whenever my lips have uttered.

You O Lord, are good and do good,
I need You to teach Your statutes;
So that I can do as I should,
Enabled in bearing ripe fruit.

The insolent smear me with lies,
But my whole heart keeps Your precepts;
For Your insight opens my eyes,
To Your commandments and concepts.

Their heart is unfeeling like fat,
But I will delight in Your Law;
They act like the Cheshire cat,
And displaying a grinning flaw.

It is good being afflicted,
So that I might learn Your statutes;
Because I found it convicted,
All my personal attributes.

The Law of Your mouth is better,
Than thousands of pieces of gold;
For following to the letter,
Doing as what I have been told.
