That which was from the start,
In which we all have heard;
That we can take to heart,
Being based in the Word.

Because we all have seen,
Opening our eyes;
All of which that has been,
Gave wisdom to make wise.

Which we could look upon,
Have touched with our hands;
The Word of life does spawn,
As to what God commands.

Life was made manifest,
Just as we have seen it;
Giving spiritual zest,
In what we do merit.

So, we can testify,
And as we can proclaim;
As we never deny,
In eternal life fame.

Which we have seen and heard,
We will proclaim to you;
Fellowship in the Word,
To the Son what we do.

We are writing these things,
As joy may be complete;
To what salvation brings,
Any sin will delete.

We have heard and proclaim,
Declaring God is light;
The light that overcame,
The darkness from your sight.

If you have fellowship,
And walk in the darkness;
No truth in your worship,
Deceit with your starkness.

You practice not the truth,
Making God a liar;
And being so uncouth,
With a false desire.

But walking in the light,
You have confessed your sin;
The Lord is in your sight,
The Spirit cleans within.
