He made the moon for the season,
The sun knows its time for setting;
For God knows the rhyme and reason,
To remember not forgetting.

He makes darkness and it is night,
When the beasts are creeping about;
Their eyes has prey within their sight,
For their next meal having no doubt.

The young lions roar for their prey,
As though seeking their food from God;
For they stalk them during the day,
And once caught their prey will be clawed.

At the sun rise they steal away,
As they will lie down in their den;
Until hunger shows them the way,
For another prey to condemn.

To his job the man will go out,
To labor until evening;
The toils of the day leaves doubt,
Of his coming and going.

How manifold are all the deeds;
In wisdom that the Lord has made;
Giant trees grow from little seeds,
But withers and dies life will fade.

Here is the sea so great and wide,
Living creatures both small and great;
Follows the flows caused by the tide,
Some that man catches with his bait.

There go the ships as the waves play,
Tossing about just like a toy;
Winds causing waves to go astray,
Smashing against ships to destroy.

All of these looking to the Lord,
To give them food in due season;
And let it not to be ignored,
Every rhyme has a reason.

When you have given it to them,
They gather from His opened hand;
His compassion not to condemn,
Showing respect to His command.
