Hi, Ralph. Just thought this could make sense for my fellow Nigerians now:

Honey breeders! Honey makers! Honey fenders! And honey buyers! All are the same, except that as a teacher, I often had fun with my students as they sang a fun African pup song of drunkards: " the man who tapped the wine
is the man who brought the wine
And the man who brought the wine
Is a good, happy man.
But the man who drinks the wine
Is a sad, stupid man.
The man who tastes the wine
Is the man who loves the wine
And the man who staggers on
Is a damn stupid man!"

But when it comes to the line :"the man who taps the wine..." I usually encourage them to sing "is a damn stupid man!"

Honey is funny and not only lovely but homey - honey and all it represents - soul, spirit, and body, and all in-between. I guess the man who taps the honey, and the bees who sucked it, and the God who put the nectar there - are blessed good people. But King Solomon once said "when you find honey, it is advisable to take it moderately so you don't purge" - whatever honey is.

Cast back your mind to Shakespeare's "it is never enough".

The word in etymological root "useless" should have meant "use less" but that is far from it - it actually turns out to be used the other way round - worthless. Imagine. So, who are these worthless people who are drinking in excess honey they never labored for? The damn stupid men? with some even thinking it's a reward of their labor or compensation of arise to nonentical status or power? It is usually good to start from yourself in such danigrading sampling.

But to be rather choicy let's make it brief: am I - the writer - a Nigerian? Do we have honey in Nigeria? Is Nigeria a bee hive? I, the writer am Nigerian - I will start with myself. I have sampled my sincere opinion to know that there is honey - whatever it means - in Nigeria. Have I taken this honey before - legally or illegally? Could I be one of those damn stupid men? I am still finding out each beeping second from the pulse reading of my internal blipper. So, likewise, we'll analyze - if we take the analysis first to ourselves - without marauding a finger at any there may be damn stupid man.

But, honestly, if tummies were punctured (some lean ones also are damn stupid men's), they would blast and pour off stolen honey! In excess - so to even fill a river. Can we chew notes? Then swallow coins? Have I sarcastically mocked pot-bellied men? No. Not even floating garmenters. That man, whether lean-bellied or pot-bellied or any in-between should be the damn stupid man.

In the power sector, there are damn stupid men and women. That is why it is working. In the government, from presidency to legislature down to the permanent secretary who stores hard bee-earned stolen honey, are damn stupid men. Do you know why? One day, the history of this nation will be re-written, and none of these damn stupid men or women with red caps, black caps or floating garments will be included.

Surely, the man who steals the milk,
eating too the oak,
in a quiet rushing chew...
is the damn stupid man.
