Not that I already obtained,
Nor am I already perfect;
Rather that I have ascertained,
To press on what others reject.

Consider not what I have made.
Rather forget what lies behind;
Straining forward and not afraid,
On what the Scriptures have defined.

I press on forward toward the goal,
The upward call of Jesus Christ;
Reserved as a prize for my soul,
Because of what He sacrificed.

Let those of us who are mature,
Think this way you would otherwise;
God will reveal what is in store,
That will be opening up your eyes.

For we have already attained,
So, let us then only hold true;
The knowledge that we have obtained,
In our minds that we construe.

Join in by imitating me,
Keeping your eyes on those who walk;
According to all that you see,
Listening to the things they talk.

Many that I have often told,
Now telling you even with tears;
Walk as enemies being bold,
Against the cross as it appears.

Because their end is destruction,
Their god actually their venter;
In which they are your obstruction,
Remains to be your tormenter.

We are citizens of Heaven,
From it we await the Savior;
Through Christ salvation is given,
The Father shines down His favor.

This vile body who will transform,
With another so glorious;
Truly giving us a new norm,
Endowed to be victorious.
