The Loneliness of Wealth
Category: /General/

I saw that all toil,
And all skill of your work;
Envy makes blood boil,
That causes you to lurk.
Envy of your neighbor,
Which is a vanity;
How he strives in labor.
Causing profanity.
Vexation of spirit,
As the fool folds his hands;
Being illiterate,
Of all godly commands.
Better is a handful,
Of having quietness;
Than having two hands full,
Striving illicitness.
I saw much vanity,
Again, under the sun;
Causing insanity,
Immorally as done.
One who has no other,
Yet there has been no end;
Either son or brother,
Being near as a friend.
Eyes never satisfied,
With riches from their tasks;
Not feeling justified,
That authority asks.
For whom do I toil,
Depriving my pleasure;
Considered unlawful,
For a meager treasure.
Two are better than one,
They have a good reward;
Finished what has begun,
Gives blessings to the Lord.
If two lie together,
They keep each other warm;
For those that would gather,
With all that they perform.
