A Thankful Heart

I give thanks to the Lord,
With my entire heart;
And stay in one accord,
As His Word I impart.

Before all other gods,
I am singing His praise;
Because they are all frauds,
Another life decays.

I bow down on my knees,
In the holy temple;
Praying to give my pleas,
Gathered are His people.

I give thanks to His name,
Because of steadfast love;
As my faith will proclaim,
His faithfulness above.

For His name and His Word,
Exalt above all things;
As constantly is heard,
The blessings that it brings.

On the day that I called,
He answered unto me;
I had become enthralled,
From what He helped me see.

My strength of soul increased,
Giving me a delight;
The touch of the High Priest,
Showed me glory so bright.

All the kings of the earth,
Shall bow down to the Lord;
Because their valued worth,
Not fit for His reward.

They have already heard,
And must sing of His ways;
The glory of His Word,
Follow them all their days.

For though the Lord is high,
He regards the lowly;
For as the righteous cry,
He considers holy.

The Lord fills His purpose,
He endures forever;
As my guiding compass,
A love will not sever.
