Be heedful to my instruction,
Attentive to gain some insight;
Possibly giving seduction,
For guiding you unto the light.

Attend to know understanding,
Because I give you good doctrine;
What the precepts are demanding,
For maintaining good discipline.

Do not forsake of my teaching,
They keep you from breaking the law;
Listen to what I am preaching,
To keep you from getting a flaw.

For when I was my father’s son,
Loved in the sight of my mother;
His instruction that had begun,
I did not want him to bother.

But he taught me to let my heart,
Holding fast and retain the Word;
Keep the commandments to impart,
Heeding to all that I have heard.

Get wisdom and understanding,
Get the insight not to forget;
As to what life is demanding,
Keep you from going into debt.

Do not turn away what I speak,
Forsake not who gave you your birth;
Use insight and wisdom to seek,
For her love will guard your true worth.

Wisdom is the principal thing,
For understanding and insight;
Because of knowledge it will bring,
For guiding you into His light.

She will exalt you as a prize,
As you honor her to embrace;
Considered as noble and wise,
God will shine upon you His grace.

She will be placing on your head,
Giving you a graceful garland;
Serving you with food to be fed,
That royalty considers grand.

She bestows a beautiful crown,
Delivering of such glory;
Showing the path to be renown,
As part of your repertory.
