Hidden
Yearning for social harmony
One needs an army behind him
To march up the impassable hill
Had your fill of disappointment
For several lifetimes
But instead of championing victories
Over the slights, insults
Con artists and parasites
You prefer to be a mime
Silence in the darkness
Turning away from extravagant sun
You’re worth more, son
Instead of a cog
Playing it safe
Just to play the game.

Perhaps you’re terrified
Of having to be successful
What have you done for me lately?
A refrain that went from echoing in your mind
To being stitched into your soul
While you know the intellectual solution
Negativity has sapped you of energy
Yearning for connection
Unquestionable synergy
Universe takes care of itself
But unable to let go
What are you waiting for?
Are you praying for a free pass?
In hopes of having a chance in the next one?
