Another distraction
One more empty illusion
Contusion of the mind
Bruising of the heart
You wanna be a part
Not play one
You wanna be independent
But the mediocrity screams out dependent
You wanna be a leader
But too scared of making a mistake.

Hush, don’t say a word
In deep thought
Albeit catatonic
Don’t deny the sage
From insightful
Philosophical treatises
It might have been a ruse all along
For only one knows
And he reveals at his own pace
Own time
It may happen in this lifetime
How will you know?
Do you even care?
You’re too busy
Being self-absorbed
That you don’t witness anything
And everyone you allegedly hold so dear walk away.
