Above the Wintry winds, today,
I feel the urge of quickening life
That only March can bring,
I vision opening bud and leaf
When April rains shall hum.
For, somehow, Winters hold is loosened,
The frost shall melt and leave,
The scouring rains shall wash the earth
And cause the seeds to sprout,
And light the fields with fragrant flowers
Where once their was only snow.
But thus has Nature ever worked,
It is a presence so fair,
We mind it's moody changes not
Because we know we'll discover,
When Winter comes, Spring always is
Close coming on behind.
