I never wanted to start over
I didn't ask you to leave
I never wanted a new life
You gave that to me
I never wanted
To cry myself to sleep
I didn't make promises
That I couldn't keep
I wasn't confused
About the way I feel
It was you that walked away
My love was for real
So I guess I should say thank you
It's all because of you
That I found someone perfect
Who is wonderful and true
I did not want it
But somehow I made it through
The new life I have now
I owe it all to you
