Faithful Exhortation

Since this will all be dissolved,
You ought to be living your lives;
A godliness to be absolved,
Rather than the cheating and lies.

Look for the coming of the Lord,
The day the Heaven is on fire;
The day that cannot be ignored,
Your body burns from desire.

Heavenly bodies melt away,
Elements burn from fervent heat;
A promise fulfilled on that day,
When transformation is complete.

As the new Heavens and new earth,
In which the righteousness will dwell;
And as God proclaims a new birth,
We will see new life will impel.

Since you are waiting for these things,
Be diligent as to be found;
The wonderment that it all brings,
Being displayed in sight and sound.

Without a blemish or a spot,
A creation that is at peace;
Without a single evil thought,
Harmony that will never cease.

Count the patience of our Lord,
Giving salvation who do trust;
Showing He is loved and adored,
To a God who is fair and just.

For He has given the wisdom,
With the knowledge the time you speak;
That prepares you for His Kingdom,
In everything that you seek.

Things are hard to understand,
For the ignorant and insane;
Twist destruction in their demand,
Views of false teachers to disdain.

But in knowing this beforehand,
Guard from being carried away;
Remain steadfast on where you stand,
That you will never start to stray.

Grow in the grace of our Lord,
And the knowledge of Jesus Christ,
Glory be when in one accord,
Think of why He was sacrificed.
