Adventure often times calls to me,
But Duty answers refuse,
And bids that I stay at home
When rather I would go.
But why must I pay attention to Duty
When the whole wide world remains
And there may not be a further chance
For one who hesitates?
Then should I go or should I stay,
Which choice shall then be mine,
To seek the joys of the less beaten paths
Or stay at home and yearn?
The die is cast, I must be off
Though Duty bids me to pause
The open road is calling me
And I must be away.
