Ever tried to write poetry
In the middle of a war
Or even on my computer here
As my partner talks with roar

Thinking its time I took a break
And forgot poetry for awhile
Get myself some as if peace of mind
To think once I always used to smile

So I'll be back but not real soon
Might do a little fishing instead
I've given up on love and friendship
Life's become something I dread

Might write an article adult education
Most I know born when I was fifty
Need some educated conversation
Now that'd be real nifty

So I'm taking just awhile off for me
Never know what I'll find
Not the planet I was born on anymore
A break I think before I lose my mind
