She was sitting upon a tuft of grass
Warming her self within the sun
Along came a smallest leprechaun
And then her heart was won

He had snuck up to sit beside her
And tapped her upon shoulder there
She turned around and I'll be bound
She smiled a smile beyond compare

He moved a little closer to her
And sang an Irish love song old
Then he took her hand kissing it
Then gave her a wink rather bold

Her little heart it missed a beat
And snuggled closer to him then
She'd never ever felt so grand
Since the time her life began

Romance it was born in Ireland
On that day the longest time ago
And why they named it romance
I guess that we'll never know
