I will not sit in the worthless seat
I view the garden wide,
Nor hurl the cynics ban---
By the rivers tied.

I turn from their attacks and tears,
That always welcome toil
There are brook-gladdened meadows
ahead,
That will bless the worker with their
spoil.

The road that passes through the long
afternoon,
To the fury of hate and war
And like one who dwells alone
Defending what we die for.

They are good, they are bad, they are
weak, they are stong,
If we can't give our power
Wise and foolish-so am I,
Therefore, I went to my brightest hour.
