Naming Starfish

As the waves crash against the shore, I feel the wind on my face, as the sea air reaches my lungs, and makes me crave for more.
Billions of stars shine above me far too many to count alone, just like grains of golden sand running through my fragile human hand.

In this quiet retreat, where the seagulls are king and queen, I stand on a rock – face
not wanting to be seen I can see the foot-steps in the sparkling sand, where there was once a human connection, as the seaweed floats upon salty water, flowing on the waves moving slowly with each and every strand.

Here I am, naming starfish, as they lay in rock-pools, surrounded by light; as they wait for the tide to come in, as the day gives way to the night.
In the distance ships and small vessels sail on the horizon, as the moons reflection shines and glimmers on the water’s surface.

In the glimmer of a moment, star-dust falls down from the sky, as the moons - magic -light puts a twinkle in my eye. In this place of tranquil retreat I sit here naming starfish,
waiting as time passes me by.
