God will rescue you from the snare,
And from the deadly pestilence;
He will give you the loving care,
Only through your own acceptance.

He will cover you with His feathers,
Under His wings you find refuge;
His faithfulness where one weathers,
With His buckler from the deluge.

You won’t fear terror of the night,
Nor of arrows during the day;
Nor destruction within your sight,
Nor pestilence stalks you as prey.

A thousand may fall at your side,
Or ten thousand at your right hand;
But access from the Lord denied,
Diverts away through His command.

You will only look with your eyes,
See recompense of the devil;
His wisdom is making you wise,
For avoiding what is evil.
