Forget not what you have been taught,
Letting your heart keep God’s commands;
For the length of days that you sought,
The years will add to your demands.

The days and years of life and peace,
That love and faithfulness forsake;
Never letting His Word decrease,
So that you not make a mistake.

Write them on a pad for your heart,
Binding the pad upon your chest;
Committing your thoughts to impart,
To keep you from being depressed.

You will find favor and success,
In the sight of the Lord and man;
If you trust God then He will bless,
And understanding in His plan.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
Lean not on your own perception;
His wisdom will give an upstart,
That will block any deception.

Acknowledge Him in every way,
As He will straighten out your path;
Blocking detours so you don’t stray,
So, you will be spared of His wrath.

Depart evil, and fear the Lord,
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Allow your body to be cured,
Healing the bone and flesh the cries.
