You are following my teaching,
My conduct and aim in my life;
Steadfast love and faith far reaching,
My patience in the midst of strife.

Persecutions and suffering,
That has happened and I endured;
The Lord present for buffering,
Given solace has reassured.

All who want to live godly lives,
Persecution they will suffer;
For the shadow of darkness thrives,
Satan ensures life is tougher.

While evil and impostors,
Assured you go from bad to worse;
Being deceived by the tempters,
And is placing on you a curse.

Continue in what you have learned,
Knowing that you firmly believed;
And all that through Jesus you earned,
From the salvation you received.

Since the days you were a child,
You have known the Holy Scriptures;
Righteously grown undefiled,
As you were taught by the preachers.

They are able to make you wise,
Having faith for your salvation;
Christ Jesus will open your eyes,
Making you a new creation.

All Scripture is breathed out by God,
Profitable for the teaching;
It is doctrine that is not flawed,
Unto others for out-reaching.

Instructional doctrine for man,
So that we may become complete;
For all good works that God does plan,
Give Satan his final defeat.
