A Place I came To Simply Call Silence

Home alone was I to be a long weekend
thought that I'd take an unknown drive
Came across old road where endless pine
Grew tall close thick fragrented devine
Parked the car out of sightband walked
Upon a carpet of needles natures bed
I lay there listening to the silence
My jacket pillowed there below my head
Looking high between pine at the sky
Not a sound silence rode the breeze
Not a bird was to be there heard
As my mind left all behind but trees
Dozing some I drifted floated sailed
To nowhere at all but here upon earth
This place later I came to call silence
With a feeling within of priceless worth
Thinking about nothing at all this moment
I slept as I've never done ever before
A life time of living stress I must confess
To unknown heights and places it did soar
Arrived mid morning I awoke later in the day
Feeling my soul had lost all years of old
I sat awhile allowed my soul to as if smile
Trying to find anything stressful or bold
Took awhile to remember my arriving there
To get my bearings of coming to this place
Later I found the car away not to very far
Thinking some of an unknown peaceful grace
Asking myself why I'd not done this before
So very many times I wished so that I had
Come to a place I came to call simply silence
My soul had soaked a needed rest feeling glad
