Humble yourself under His hand,
So that His mighty hand exalts you;
At the proper time you will stand,
Of His Word able to construe.

Cast on Him your anxieties,
Because of you, He rightfully care;
His Spirit cleanse iniquities,
In your confession that you share.

Be sober-minded and alert,
Vigilant of the deceiver;
Satan puts an extra effort,
Prowling for an unbeliever.

He is like a roaring lion,
Seeking someone to devour;
A person away from Zion,
Patiently waiting to dour.

Be firm in your faith and resist,
For the same kinds of afflictions;
For experience does exist,
The suffering through addictions.

And after you have suffered,
The glory of Christ will restore;
Through Christ Jesus to be buffered,
In offering to you a cure.

The eternal glory of Christ,
Will strengthen you for His Kingdom;
The reason He was sacrificed,
Sharing with you in His wisdom
