Remember my affliction,
Also, my wanderings;
And the wormwood addiction,
The gall of its flavorings.

My soul always remembers,
As it bows down within me;
Like fire of burning embers,
That I can never break free.

But this I have called to mind,
Which has given me the hope;
In being humbled and kind,
Reluctant that I must cope.

The steadfast love of the Lord,
Whose grace comes not to an end;
His mercies I have adored,
The blessings that He does send.

For His compassion fails not,
And great is His faithfulness;
New every morning I sought,
Coming from His righteousness.

The Lord is my percentage,
Therefore, I will hope in Him;
And He is my heritage,
The outlook never looks grim.

He is good to those who wait,
Their soul will patiently seek;
Because He will seal their fate,
If they become humbly meek.

It’s good to wait quietly,
For salvation of the Lord;
Becoming intimately,
And being in one accord.

It is good for one to bear,
Think of the yoke of his youth;
Learning of the love to share,
Preventing to be uncouth.
