The Lord is my shining light,
He’s also my salvation;
I aim to please in His sight,
Being His new creation.

He’s the stronghold of my life,
Of whom shall I be afraid;
Amongst the toil and strife,
I will never be dismayed.

Evildoers assail me,
But they come stumble and fall;
For they are too blind to see,
The Lord has answered my call.

My foes encamp against me,
But my heart will never fear;
Because the Lord heard my plea,
And I know that He is near.

Although against me war shall rise,
Yet I shall be confident;
For the Lord has made me wise,
As He made me vigilant.

One thing I ask of the Lord,
In His house that I do dwell;
My request is not ignored,
Avoiding the gates of hell.

For the beauty of the Lord,
Reflects upon His temple;
While those in one accord,
Will be His chosen people.

He hides me under His wing,
In the day there is trouble;
To His righteousness, I cling,
Not to falter or stumble.

He conceals me from their view,
Then lifts me high on the rock;
My spirit He does renew,
For beside me, He will walk.
