Out of their Mouths

The Lord had opened up my eyes,
As I saw the angel of the Lord;
He stood in the way my demise,
And in his hand, he drew his sword.
I bowed down and fell on my face,
Asked why I struck the donkey thrice;
My way was a perverse disgrace,
A discipline to be precise.
The donkey saw me, turned away,
Three times she turned away from me;
I let her live and did not slay,
In her eyes was sincerity.
Unto the angel of the Lord,
I said to him that I have sinned;
He stood on the road and ignored,
I am crude and undisciplined.
The angel replied “Go with them,
But only speak as in the Word;
Be spared so God will not condemn,
Of any blaspheme to be heard.
