OLD SCHOOL THINKING IS NO MORE

Once old school attitudes lived once with pride
Those of long ago have all but died faded away..
Leaving very few who of them once ever knew
Values principles integrity that lived in a day..
All gone with offspring creating selective memories
That give no credit to the once backbone of same..
Like as if blackberries have since covered the gardens
Of any old school beauty that thrived sun and rain..
It sadly happens in smaller less populated places
As these very oldest once trees but now new fruit came..
Old values Worked so hard once trying to make sure
Their future generations never worked as hard in pain..
Now instead old school values put to bed good as dead
New fruit took the labor that was once done for them..
Forgetting all of old values integrities soon to fall
As if old school values never lived and will not ag'en..
If their fore-fathers could see them now sad they'd be
And a few of the worst that once lived in their time..
Sad they'd be such sour fruit fell from their tree
Giving fruit almost inedible since old values lived fine..
The gifts old schooler's provided to make life for them
Better easier smoother new fruit takes uses but forgotten..
Of old school values integrity's principles hardest work
Producing fruit now that so much of it better left rotten..
No new age machinery then in their day just all back breaking
Hardest old school hard working determination day and night..
Fathers in old flannels mothers in aprons longest ever days
Making things better for new fruit but all gone now with blight..
Now selective sour memories of how they got to their now
Have all but smothered old school values integrity's of that day..
And sadly those old school values have died and faded in time
Sugar coated selective memories all old school can't take away..
