An angel had come to wake me,
I was awakened from my sleep;
A lampstand of gold I could see,
With seven lamps that it did keep.

It had seven lips on each lamp,
With a bowl on the top thereof;
Each of the lamps displayed a stamp,
Indicating God and His love.

There were two olive trees nearby,
One on the left, one on the right;
The angel lit the lamps hereby,
Causing them to be shining bright.

I asked him, “What are these, my lord?”
Then answered me, “Do you not know?”
“This is from the Word of the Lord,”
“Not might, but by Spirit to show.

Not by the power nor by might,
But by the Spirit of the Lord;
Seven churches shining the light,
While being in one accord.

For whom are you, O great mountain?
You shall bring forward the top stone;
That will bring a graceful fountain,
To cleanse from sin and will atone.
