When you were a slave to sin,
You were freed to righteousness;
A new life you could begin,
A feeling of joyousness.

What fruit you get at that time,
From the things you are ashamed;
The end is death for that crime,
Confess and no more be blamed.

From sin you are now set free,
And became a slave to God;
Iniquities are to flee,
Giving Him honor and laud,

Your fruit unto holiness,
With an everlasting life;
Converts you to lowliness,
Being bombarded by strife.

Eternal life is God’s gift,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord;
As you spirit will uplift,
When you are in one accord.
