Homelessness is a problem and those who experience this are facing a variety of trials including but not limited to being stereotyped. Being stigmatized is another injustice that they deal with as well as being disrespected and downright judged by society. Fortunately, there are many ways to help them and Google offers a myriad of suggestions on how we can assist. In particular, there are a number of websites that proposed various solutions to this universalized problem.
First, we can pray for them and we can donate gift cards to restaurants or grocery stores (https://www.bowery.org/homelessness/tips-help-homeless/). We can also learn about Homelessness and put ourselves in their shoes, which can certainly help in dispelling the stereotypes that society has placed on them according to the Bowery and Wikihow Websites. Wikihow also suggests identifying the stereotypes that they endure on a regular basis and the opposition of laws that criminalize homelessness (https://m.wikihow.com/Help-the-Homeless). The How Stuff Works Website suggests advocacy and writing is one way that we can advocate for them (https://money.howstuffworks.com/homeless6.html).
Other ways to help them include but are not limited to volunteering at homeless shelters just as long as our transportation allows, donating recycled goods, creating jobs and even helping them to find places of employment (https://m.wikihow.com/Help-the-Homeless). Supporting libraries is another proposal that Wikihow offers, and public libraries have a plethora of resources that can help in finding work.
Some may even volunteer at local libraries, which could turn into a job at where these individuals receive pay.
Even if they decide not to work at the library, these local agencies have computers and the internet provides access to a variety of websites, such as Indeed.com. Of course, this can help in dispelling the stereotype that these people are lazy because they are not.
Being friendly, respecting them, and teaching others about homelessness are additional ways to help them in harmony with the Wikihow and Pocket Sense Websites. They need to know that they are not alone and that help is on the way. They also need to know that someone cares and that everything is going to be all right. Thanks to Google, we can explore different ways to help them.
To sum it up, we have help in helping these individuals make a positive transition out of homelessness. We can also be reassured that whatever we do for them, we are doing for our Creator in the flesh according to Matthew 25. Through the Internet and technology at large, He provides a wide variety of solutions to homelessness and many suggestions on how to help them. In conclusion, they are not alone and neither are we. We are all in this together.
